  1. Pasted/Embedded Images are disappearing

    1. 22.0.1 on MacOS 10.13.3
    2. Illustrator closes either through my action or an unexpected crash
    3. I expect all of the embedded files I've been working with to display on the canvas
    4. A handful of the images will appear, but almost everything that has been linked (then embedded) or pasted into the file only appears as an empty bounding box. The images will only reappear if I use the link panel to hunt for each file and place it again. 40 minutes into this, I don't even know if I'll be able to fix all of the images that I pasted into…

    The issues has been supposedly fixed in the latest Beta 30.4. The nature of the problem makes it hard to test, but, please, if possible, try to see if it works and doesn’t lead to vanishing images. The team needs a confirmation (or otherwise) before pushing it into the general build.

  2. BMP bitmaps are seen as RGB, lose transparency and cannot be coloured in 28.5

    Place a .BMP 1 bit file in AI 28.5. It is seen as RGB and cannot be coloured.
    PSD and TIF bitmaps work fine.

  3. Images within opacity masks shift

    When using multiple opacity masks in a file in an earlier version, including 29.31. Opening it in illustrator 29.4 almost all the images used for the masks are repositioned to the center of the page.

  4. Links panel showing wrong date created and date modified

    MacOS Monterey (12.4) on
    MacBook Pro with M1 Max Chip
    Illustrator 26.3.1
    All placed links show a creation and modified date of Feb 6, 2040. This is every file I open. It doesn't matter if the link is stored locally or on a server. The dates of the file stored in the folder are correct, but the info in the links panel shows the wrong dates. All previous versions of Illustrator show the correct date. This makes Illustrator 2022 unusable for me!

  5. Files saved are missing images when imported into Photoshop, InDesign, other apps

    Lately I am having problems with linked files in Illustrator not showing up when I open the file in Photoshop for instance, even though everything looks fine in Illustrator in the original file. I have to go into the Links menu and relink everything one at a time and resave to make it work. I also notice that the file size is smaller when the linked files don't work.

    I tend to use linked files a lot and have for years so this isn't a case of unfamiliarity with the tool.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

  6. Images embedded disappear after reopening the file 2025

    This problem has been occurring for a few weeks: when I reopen a file containing embedded images, they disappear, turn white, or turn the original image color.

    In 15 years of using ILLUSTRATOR, this has never happened, and it's truly annoying. Some files contain more than 50 images, and if a small one disappears, it's unmanageable.

    The strange thing is that it doesn't happen with all files; it's random.

    I'm working with Illustrator 30.0, but the same thing happened with 29.8.3.

  7. Documents preview not updated properly in Indesign

    When I save an Illustrator file, import it into Indesign, then make changes to the file, save it again and update the link in Indesign, some parts are not updated in the preview (see attached image). This doesn't happen every time, seemingly at random.

    I have resolved this by first saving as an older version and then again as latest version, but that's not a real solution.
    Somebody told me to uncheck 'Save in background' in settings, this also solved the problem but again, is not a real solution.
