We were able to ship support for Art and Calligraphic Brushes in our 2.0 release. But there is more to be done for Import / Export of (atleast) these Brush types. We’re keeping this thread open for your feedback. Thank you!

Was so excited to find out that the brush tool was added, but it has some major bugs to work out - why even release it??? First of all, I can't save any brushes I make and use in a separate document; ie add it to a library within illustrator for iPad. Second, I can't import my existing brush files from my Illustrator for desktop, which, I have a lot. having to recreate all of them would be a major hassle. And last but most certainly not least...Why can't I apply my custom brushes to pen tool illustrations??? This makes no sense. Only being able to use the brush tool for brushes means that I can't make a straight line (like holding shift would on desktop) or apply it to pencil or pen drawings. So overall this tool is incredibly limiting, and shouldn't have even been released until it was finished.

We *need* to be able to import brushes, the preset ones have huge limitations. Good program, but I find myself using other ones almost solely because of this.

Import and custom brushes, it would take it to the next level!!!

Honestly i love the app on ipad. It’s incomplete with out being able to create custom brushes. Add this feature ASAP. Illustrator is incomplete without it.

Not being able to import brushes has really caused a problem. Please can this be changed.

It’s honestly sort of crazy you even released this product without this feature. Definitely needs to be added ASAP.

I’ve just bought an iPad to change from using desktop to draw on and then realised I can’t change or add to brushes… wtf?
How is this possible? Even more depressing to see on here how long people have been complaining about it and still not there?
Personally even if I had a square brush I could get by a bit but wow come on Adobe

Super surprised that this wasn't an OG release feature but excited that it's being worked on! Anxiously waiting it's release.

Come on Adobe ! This is JUST the second most requested feature ! Many of us are not using the app because of that !

I would use Illustrator (iPad) if I could use custom brushes like I can in the desktop version.

I’d like to be able to have the same brushes as desktop AI, I can’t draw a shape with the pressure brush and colour the shape. You can only to that with pencil brush and that doesn’t let you use a pressure brush

Want to bump this as well.. I have little use for the app without this feature

Essential option in this program, especially if you professionally used the desktop version for many years before. Please find out a way to add this option ASAP, many of us are waiting for it.

Add brushes to lines, and be able to change them afterwards.

Also essential to me is the ability to import the custom brushes and symbols I've got on my desktop version.

Doesn't even look like this feature is planned, judging by other requests below that have this label.

More brushes please. I want to be able to add my own brushes.
