We were able to ship support for Art and Calligraphic Brushes in our 2.0 release. But there is more to be done for Import / Export of (atleast) these Brush types. We’re keeping this thread open for your feedback. Thank you!

I’ve just signed up to a trial, thank goodness I did, no option to upload brushes, off to unsubscribe now, unlike the poor unfortunate souls below who are paying you monthly.... really disappointed !!

I just deleted this product from my device. I will now be paying you 20 a month for absolutely nothing. Without the ability to use brushes I have become used to using on the DT app it is useless to me.
Let me know the name of the charity I’m contributing to. -

there is still no brush import/create brushes option. You have had this in the Desk Top app for years (and years, and years, and years. I just started a 20.00/ mo plan that I'm locked into for a year for a crippled product.
5 months. Nothing -

Why is these even a needed request? How do you design an illustrator without brush import options. I just started a subscription for 20 a month for a crippled product. WTF are you even thinking.

‘Seriously! There is only so much you can do with the blob brush!
I need to be able to either import custom brushes or create my own! -

I have used Illustrator for 20 years, literally. I put “learning” another app that is geared towards incorporating the obvious benefits of an ipad over a desktop app. I was SO excited about the release. I even bought a new IPAD PRO and keyboard so I could be off and running with Illustrator for the IPAD. When it was released I spent hours trying to figure out what “I was doing wrong”. When it finally hit me that there was NO CUSTOM BRUSH OPTIONS I was appalled. I still am. What could adobe be thinking? Or are you not thinking? What good is an ipad app without brush features? It truly is unbelievable that Adobe would even think of releasing such a second hand app that clearly had very little serious thought in its creation? I will wait for one more release, if you can’t get your act together there are QUITE A FEW competitors that put Illustrator for IPAD to TOTAL SHAME. How many customers are frustrated like me? I HATE the idea of having to learn a whole new Illustration Program, but you are not giving me much choice. It’s time too rise to the times or get off the literary “pot”. Please.

Hi Avinash Singh Kotwal,
I saw you are the Sr. Product Manager at Adobe Illustrator and have responded on some of the other threads. Do you know if your team are planning to release this feature?
Cheers,
Graham -

It would be very helpful if this feature could be added in upcoming updates ASAP

The blob brush is nothing like the desktop version. You can't adjust the brush dynamics to taper into a point which makes this brush completely useless for inking. If this feature is fixed I will consider resubscribing.

Stopped using Adobe Draw due to this missing feature. Used Astropad as a stop-gap while waiting for Illustrator for iPad. Upgraded my iPad when I illustrator for iPad came out, but am now confused about why this crucial feature is missing...

Would really like the paintbrush tool rather than the pencil or blob brush. Heard its coming?

This is so essential to be able to add/import my brushes from desktop version into iPAD version.
Please make this possible ASAP!!! I can't use the ipad app without this feature -

It would be awesome if I could add my custom brushes from Illustrator desktop version into the iPAD version of Illustrator so I can draw with my custom brush sets on the iPAD

I understand you might think this is a feature request but honestly I think this is a huge UX failure. Call it a UX BUG. It is a showstopper and per my professional (17 years in the field) UX view it needs to be fixed with a HOTFIX.
No paint brush tool?? I don't even understand why you would launch without....
Without this, I might as well uninstall this app, I literally can't work with them now. Why else would I have these apps on my iPad if I can't Apple Pencil paint with them? -

Illustrator... without a choice of brushes? I feel properly ripped off! Sort it out Adobe!

When I use AI with my Wacom I ALWAYS make my own brush. It would be REALLY great if you could make your own brush on the iPad. Making my own brush allows me to get the precision I need from every stroke without having to go back and alter anything. I’ve been searching the iPad app for this feature but I couldn’t find it. If it’s something already available on the iPad app could you please let me know😊
