Make iPad AI more compatible with external keyboard
I have noticed when using a Magic Keyboard with AI on the iPad, that the arrow keys do not function in relation to typing blocks of text. How about the ability to move the curser with the arrow keys? It is fiddly using your finger on the touch screen to place the curser accurately.

This basic text function is absolutely essential for graphic design in illustrator. To not include it on the iPad is certainly baffling to me. The iPad has all the hardware for desktop functionality now, the software just desperately needs to catch up.

This is absolutely critical iPad Illustrator functionality. There is another post here on the same issue: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/931885-illustrator-ipad-bugs/suggestions/46243891-arrow-keys-not-working-in-iillustrator-ipad-editin

Please add this functionality to iPad Illustrator. The arrow keys work with text in other iPad apps, they should work with the type tool too.

When I select a text box I can’t move from character to character with the arrow keys on Logitech combo keyboard. Also can’t see the cursor when its at the last letter in the text box. The text box needs to be extended past the last letter.

This is still an issue. I have uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it. I have disconnected and reconnected the keyboard, and the Bluetooth settings. In illustrator, even with the text box selected, I can not hit the space bar without it taking to a new button/tool or closing out of the project I have open.
I pay for full access to the adobe apps and had to go out of my way to buy an iPad just to use the apps at all, so I am livid at wasting my money only to not even be able to use a keyboard. Makes the iPad feel useless, and the apps even more so if there is no versatility or support for issues.

Yes I have the Zagg keyboard as well. And having the same problem, this is incredibly frustrating. I can’t mask. Has anyone found a solution?

I have the same problem with my Zagg keyboard and 2021 12.9 iPad Pro. Shortcuts work fine in Fresco, but zero input to Illustrator. Weird and very frustrating!

I’m having this issue currently. I can do everything else with my keyboard on every conceivable app on my up-to-date iPad but Illustrator which I installed and paid for a subscription for YESTERDAY will only let me use keyboard shortcuts for about 5 minutes and then become unresponsive. It is super frustrating and trying to do something so simple as nudge an element on the art board becomes a manual task of ditching the keyboard and using touch instead and hoping you don’t push other stuff out of alignment while you’re at it.

I see that keyboard shortcuts should be usable on the IPad. I use keyboard shortcuts on a number of other apps on my IPad including Affinity Designer, however, Illustrator and photoshop do not recognise any input from my Bluetooth keyboard at all.
Any idea whether this is a bug or do you only support the official IPad keyboard.

Have keyboards connect via Bluetooth for typesetting.
