    We have seen this issue specific to macOS 10.15. Enabling “Screen Recording” access right to Illustrator resolved this issue.

    You can change this setting by going to Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Screen Recording and add Illustrator Application.

    Please try this and reply in comment if the above suggestion worked for you.

    I use the custom toolbars feature, but it needs improving. I would love to have a starter toolbar or preset starters that I could then edit. It is simpler to remove tools you don't want, and then save it. Instead, we're given an empty toolbar that you then have to tediously add tools to begin customizing it.

    The highest accuracy setting still seems a little too smooth in 29.0.1. You can still get an extreme number of points if you draw really slowly, and I think it may also depend on the device - tablet vs. mouse.

    This is still an issue in Illustrator 2024 and the new 2025. The export itself is fine. Can this be fixed, please?

    I agree with Egor! (I do that a lot.) Why does editing an effect change a preference setting? That seems wrong. An effect is live and applied on an object-by-object basis, its benefit being the ability to change and adjust, so it shouldn't govern a Preference setting. Thanks to Anastasia for posting.

    We are excited to announce that this feature is now available in all the public builds starting V29.1.

    The new 'Create swatch info' helps you share color information accurately with others by including color codes.

    To use this, just select the colors from the swatch panel and click on 'Create swatch info' in the menu options.

    You can customise the size, layout, color codes etc.

    Please try out this feature and let us know what you think!


    Just to clarify 'Completed' doesn't means the UV is 'Closed', it simply means the UV is available publicly in the GA builds. The UserVoice platform doesn't allow us to have a intermediate status hence the confusion.

    We are currently gathering all the user feedbacks and working on a plan to address them.

    This is a great start! I don't know why the size of the rectangle/square is limited. I can't make them smaller than 100 pt, or 1.388 inches? This means I have to zoom out to resize them. I agree with Egor a separate layer may not be necessary, unless this is for a future feature that's being added. Would be great to have control over columns, rows, names, type. If I could have a preset so every time I generate, they fit my specs, that would be super helpful. Thank you!

    This would be an amazing addition to Illustrator. Having live swatches displayed as you need them next to the art - for presentation of color chips and for the functionality of having them attached to your art. I like option 2, and would love to have my global swatches next to my art that I can change and update the art. And what if Recolor Artwork could generate new global swatches (like it does for patterns and gradient swatches) when you recolor the art with the global color chips attached.

    This would be a great addition to the magic wand! Yes! I often use isolation mode to try and limit the reach of the magic wand, but it's an imperfect solution with layers, I don't want to group things and mess up my layer structure, just to limit the magic wand.

    I would like to lock artboards so I could use the magic wand tool or commands like select all.. fill color, etc., and only select from the content on one artboard, leaving the others undisturbed.

    Currently, dimensions are limited to three decimal points or 1/4. Users need finer, more precise options added to this menu.

    The Knife is such a useful tool for cutting closed shapes, but I agree it needs more precision. It tends to smooth out as you draw, and it should allow us to pause to create a corner point—or at least have varying smoothness/fidelity settings like the Pencil tool. This is an old and overlooked tool, but highly useful. Users who are creating art with the Text to Vector feature would benefit from a tool that allows for precise cutting of closed paths.
