Issue with Eyedropper Tool Not Sampling Gradients from Images in Latest Illustrator Beta Update
Dear Adobe Support Team,
I’m experiencing an issue with the Eyedropper tool in the latest update of Adobe Illustrator. Previously, I was able to sample gradients directly from images and apply them to other objects with the Eyedropper tool, and this feature worked smoothly. However, since updating, the tool no longer seems to pick up gradients as it did before, even though I have not changed any settings.
I've confirmed that the Eyedropper tool is functioning correctly with solid colors, but when I attempt to sample a gradient from an image, it only applies a single color instead of the gradient. I have checked the Eyedropper settings but found no specific options to ensure gradients are included. Additionally, I've attempted to reset the tool settings and reinstall Illustrator, but the issue persists.
Could you please advise on how to restore this functionality or let me know if this is a known issue with the latest update? This feature is essential for my work, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and support.

Ah, I see what you mean now, you are referring to the Beta feature for picking gradients specifically from images (so I fixed the title to make it clear).
True, the team decided to pull it off.
I don’t know the reason for it yet, but my guess is that is was not telegraphed and integrated clearly enough and never allowed a way to control the behavior.
Another guess would be that it’s not that powerful as the recent toolset form Astute Graphics, and they decided to not undermine a third party: https://astutegraphics.com/learn/update/new-color-picker-suiteIf any news happen, I will update.
Meanwhile, if you like the feature, upvote this request the team made to evaluate the interest:

Thanks for coming and asking about it! -

I’m referring specifically to the Beta version, and I’ve also tried the previous version, but it didn’t make a difference. It’s really strange because I had tested this before Adobe MAX and even explained it to my students in class, but since yesterday, I can’t find it at all.

Amir, can’t verify that :( Trying in both Beta and GA release (since you posted this in the Beta branch — did you mean that?)
Please share a screenshot of your Eyedropper settings still (just in case).
What about a previous release? Can you try to install it instead of the latest one and compare the behavior?
