The issue is believed to be fixed in the latest Beta build and is expected to be pushed into the Global Availability build at the end of July.

To ensure this indeed fixes the problem, please install the latest Beta build from CCD app and try to reproduce it, following the steps provided by Ton in a comment within the report.

Please reply back if Beta works for you or not.

We found a pretty big bug involving the Type on a Path.

If we open an Illustrator file made with AI 27.5 and before on any newer version (From 27.6.1 up to 28.0), any Type on Path is disappearing from the file.

As you can see in the screenshot, we no longer see the text, even in outline mode, even if it's still there. I can select it if I click in the area it is supposed to be, when I do, we can see that a color is applied to the text, but we can't see the text itself.
If I do any modification to it (changing color, moving it, add text etc.) it shows up. To this point when I undo the change, the texte go back to it's original state but now I can see it.

I tested every version of Illustrator and 27.5 is the last version it doesn't do this. At 27.6.1 it does this, as if there was something changed with the Types on a Path on this update that broke the tool.

We have a lot of files setup with this type of text and it led to a lot of production errors and costs.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.2 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

I have the same problem, for me it's the "do javascript" command that doesn't respond
