Hello all,
The 'Apply to all' checkbox has been brought back in the Replace missing link dialogue.
'Apply to all' checkbox was removed when we introduced the 'Auto-relink' (search for missing links in this folder) functionality, as we though 'auto-relink' is going to take care of the 'replace all' workflow as well. But it didn't work as expected in few cases as pointed out by some of you.
Hence, with the latest release V29.2 (full roll out happens on Jan 9), we have decided to revert to the earlier experience whereby we are bringing back 'apply to all' checkbox and rolling back the 'auto-relink functionality.
Because of conflicts, both of these functionality cannot co-exist unless we make some significant changes to the relinking experience.
As we understand, 'replace all' was a important workflow for most of you, so we decided to quickly bring it back while working on the overall…

An error occurred while saving the comment Andrew commentedI used to use Phantasm in my old job, but turning to 3rd party for something that on the surface seems basic and would give Illustrator a lot more power for Print Production (especially in flexo) is an extra expense on the small company, especially in these days of subscriptions... Its just a feature that I think would 'improve Illustrator' :)

An error occurred while saving the comment Andrew commentedNot seeing my post yesterday, so here's the shortened work-around:
1. Ensure new image size identical (at least proportionally) ro one to be replaced
2. Rename old (geekily, I put '404' on the end)
3. Open Illustrator layout file
4. Due to the linked file name change, Illustrator can't find it, so check the 'Apply to all' box and select your new file
5. Save the layout (Save as if duplicates are needed)
6. Remove the '404' (or undo whatever you chose to do) from the old file name. Not ideal, but works for my step/repeat files

To batch relink, either rename the folder or the image, I favour putting 404 on the end of the name (incase I forget to remove later, I'll remember what 404 is for)...
Now when I open the Illustrator file, it can't find the link, so I can direct it to a new folder or image checking 'Apply to all'... Save the file and remove the 404 from the files or folders you added it to.
Not ideal, but works...

Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
An error occurred while saving the comment Andrew commentedI too have issues with the eyedropper and the Cyan. I'll often use the artboard to eyedropper 'white' as there may be no white objects in the artwork at this point, and the cyan channel is either 0.01% or an empty field
I work in a flexo / digital printing company where we step up multiple 1-up master files to a die where for example it may be 6 across 13 around on a 12" die, meaning we have the choice it re-stepping it (and possibly mis-step due to a typo or basic human error) or relink each instance individually...
Illustrator used to be able to be tricked with a folder rename, redirect to the new Master folder and 'Apply to all'. Can't now.
Illustrator used to be able to select multiple images and replace them one after each other. Now it will only do one, then you select the next and replace that, then the next, etc, etc
I'm all for new features, but we've had very handy ones removed, then after protest, a mildly ok one replace them, why not just increase functionality of what was already there and unify it into a fully functional 'Replace Image' pane?
Adobe seems to be all for glitzy bells and whistles whilst removing core functional substance
