    Just to let you know that the 12.4 MacOS update fixed it for me.

    I began experiencing the same issue today.
    MacOS 12.3. How do you fix that?

    This issue is back (or never left). I have the same thing on illustrator 26.0.2 and big sur.
    And it seems to be solved by the same bypass - disabeling "Background Save".
    Is it too much to ask for, a stable software? Lost a whole day of work from this.
