An error occurred while saving the comment Paul Huntsberry commentedI reinstalled 27.1.1 and had the same result. The document fonts work, but I can not view the system fonts without it hanging. See video here: https://www.loom.com/share/192ca49e3de5444dbe29089451e665b9
An error occurred while saving the comment Paul Huntsberry commentedEgor, Thanks for your help. I think it is an issue with MacOS and v 27.1.1. I reverted back to v27.0.1 and I was able to replace the missing fonts. There is something about the 27.1.1 that doesn't allow me to see any of my system fonts at all without it crashing/hanging and going to 100% CPU. I tried clearing font caches and reducing to a bare minimum of fonts, resetting Illustrator, uninstalling and reinstalling but kept having the same problem. I need to use the specific fonts which are actually Adobe Fonts, but they would not auto-activate.

Some applications for managing buffer can not handle the vector data stored by Illustrator and force it to fall back to outlines and rasterized copies.
This time it was Launchpad app, quitting it solved the problem.
An error occurred while saving the comment Paul Huntsberry commentedDragging the text into the new document works and keeps the text editable, but won't place it exactly in the same position and the graphic style is not copied over. Using Ctrl-V loses the graphic style and the editable text.
An error occurred while saving the comment Paul Huntsberry commentedI would think that when I copied the text with the graphic style, the graphic style would also be copied over into the new document and the text would remain editable. The graphic style doesn't copy over and each letter is converted to compound paths of individual letters and grouped.
An error occurred while saving the comment Paul Huntsberry commentedI'm having this issue with Illustrator 2023 (27.0.1) on macOS 12.5.1, where if I have editable text in one document with a Graphic Style applied to it and then I copy the text block into a new blank document, all the text will be converted to outlines and grouped instead of keeping it as editable text. I would like the text to remain editable.
