An error occurred while saving the comment Peter O'Toole commentedHere is one file in which you can clearly see the bug in. If you try to resize the path in any way, the text jumps.
An error occurred while saving the comment Peter O'Toole commentedI am emailing you right away! Thanks so much for getting back to me!! I am using Illustrator version 28.1 On MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 but this issue has been around for at least 3/4 years.

So basically if you have text on a path and you go to resize it in any way, the text jumps as you can see in the video below. You can try and undo it but that doesn’t even work. The only way around this that I have found is to always make a copy of something and outline the copy and then you can obviously resize it etc.
From trying different things out, I feel the issue isn't present when you first create the text on a path. It only appears after you've saved and re-opened the file.
I am using the very latest version of Illustrator but it really doesn’t matter what version it is as this issue has been and will probably continue to be around for years to come.
