Type on Path Broken - Can't Resize
Not sure if this has been reported yet or not. When I use the type on path tool and try to resize it the type's center point is moved and/or the kerning is thrown way off. See the video for an example of what's happening.
The only way I can get around this is making a copy of the object so I can save an editable version, then outline the text on the other version so I can resize. This is a MASSIVE pain.
Using Ai version 25.4.1

Here is one file in which you can clearly see the bug in. If you try to resize the path in any way, the text jumps.

I am emailing you right away! Thanks so much for getting back to me!! I am using Illustrator version 28.1 On MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 but this issue has been around for at least 3/4 years.

I am so frustrated with this text on a path glitch that has been around now for years.
So basically if you have text on a path and you go to resize it in any way, the text jumps as you can see in the video below. You can try and undo it but that doesn’t even work. The only way around this that I have found is to always make a copy of something and outline the copy and then you can obviously resize it etc.
From trying different things out, I feel the issue isn't present when you first create the text on a path. It only appears after you've saved and re-opened the file.
I am using the very latest version of Illustrator but it really doesn’t matter what version it is as this issue has been and will probably continue to be around for years to come.

This is happening even in version 27.8. I had to flatten my design before I could resize it, which means if I have to edit it, I have to keep a copy that is not flattened, make the edits, make another copy to flatten, flatten this copy and resize. It really adds a lot of time to the process.

Still not fixed. Cannot resize without all the type moving round, Cmd-Z has no effect

SAME! This issue has been going on WAY too long. I have to rasterize or flatten my image before resizing and I don't like having to do that cause then I can't edit them anymore. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

1. Monterey V.12.0.1
2. 26.0.13. When I work with type on a path tool in a circle, it flips the orientation by a subtle move and when this happenes, Cmmd Z doesn't work to go back to the original orientation.
