    Hi Egor,

Thank you for responding. Yes, this is correct. If I navigate to files from within Illustrator's "Open..." menu (or Recent), and if the Illustrator window is already resized, then the opening project appears to respect the window size.

However, opening Illustrator by itself, without opening a project, will always open Illustrator full-screen as indicated above and must be resized before proceeding to open an existing project.

    Illustrator 28.5
    Windows 11 - 23H2
    5120x1440 @ 240Hz

I'm using an ultrawide monitor (Samsung Odyssey Neo G9). Every time I open Illustrator fresh or open an existing project, even with other projects already open, my window resizes to the full width of my monitor.

This happens regardless of whether I've already got a project open and my window is resized to only one half of my screen. As soon as I open an additional project, Illustrator opens full width.

I have tried the steps provided by Anshul Saini in this post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/illustrator-minimize-resize-its-window-after-opening-a-file/m-p/14366219) but it does not work.

I have tried resizing my window and then creating a New Workspace. This also did not work.

It doesn't matter if I'm opening Illustrator fresh or if I've already got multiple projects open.

It does not "Maximize" Illustrator, Illustrator is still a floating window. However it's just shy of my monitor's full resolution. It's very aggravating when trying to work, especially when I'm going through and updating multiple projects during the day, that I have to constantly drag my window to one side of my screen or snap it to one side.
