I can confirm that the issue has NOT yet been solved.
I manage to force it to it work (with 80% success rate) when I hit [ctrl]+[c] several times in a row. Then I usually open the top menu "Edit" and make sure that "Paste" command are active (which means that something has been copied).
I also could observe that the success rate raises for objects which are NOT a part of any group or complex paths. This, however, is not a rule. Just my own observation.Marek

We have fixed this issue in 29.0 (MAX) and 28.7.2 releases.

Adobe Is No Longer Built for Professionals. It’s Time to Move On, Even if the Path Isn't Easy
Many of us still naively hope that the next Adobe Creative Cloud update will finally fix broken copy-paste functionality, resolve CMYK color rendering bugs, or optimize system resource usage. However, under Shantanu Narayen’s long-standing leadership, Adobe’s corporate priorities have fundamentally shifted away from professional standards. Instead of refining core production workflows for print and prepress experts, the focus has pivoted to the mass subscription market, cluttering software with flashy AI add-ons and gadgets. Fundamental tools suffer from mounting technical debt, while background processes choke CPUs with endless licensing and telemetry microservices. Dedicated creative professionals are no longer Adobe’s primary target—we are simply predictable, recurring revenue. Admittedly, switching is no easy feat, as finding a complete, drop-in replacement remains a challenge today. The Affinity suite is making commendable strides to fill this void, yet it will still take time before it fully matures to permanently displace Adobe in high-end production environments. Nevertheless, expecting Adobe to suddenly abandon shiny marketing features in favor of stability is a complete illusion. It is time to speak openly about these shortcomings and actively explore alternatives that can eventually break this monopoly.
