Hi Ashutosh, I have just emailed you. The problem seems to have abated after a third restart and some other minor problems, but I'm having a lot of crashes since the update, as is my colleague, who is working on a slightly newer MacBook Pro (but same OS). Thanks, for your help, Vicky Taylor
