Hi Everyone,
The fix has been rolled out and is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now.

This problem has existed since the launch of the Export Assets system and it's crucial for ANY webdeveloper/designer to export ONLY the clipped area, not any extra's.

Illustrator TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Martijn Hoppenbrouwer commentedI have disabled the PDF compatibility and that did the trick. It's now over a year later, and I also have posted other bugs that haven't been fixed in 3-4 years now. I had to switch to Figma. Best of luck.

Saving an AI file takes 4-5 times longer than (around) a year ago. If you disable "PDF compatibility" than the time to save a file is back to normal. More people have this problem, which can be found in the forum on https://forums.adobe.com/message/10279391

Well finally! I haven't tested it yet, but i'll believe it works - it couldn't be that hard to fix.
Unfortunately for me, it's 4 years too late - i've switched to Figma a long time (2 years) ago.
Thanks for trying though.
