We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

We've also 'fixed' this issue by changing the Illustrator scratch disk. The asset export to svg process appears to export the Illustrator object code into the temp folder, and then does some sort of file merge as a second stage. It's that part that is failing, it dumps the temp file but not the svg file, when it errors. Hence Illustrator not being able to tell the user that its failed. Classic example of how Illustrator works these days, bits tacked on. We need this feature to be more robust please!
