Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

I would do this from my living room and feel the same way as people on cool Adobe adverts. In reality I need mouse and keyboard and large scree as well as (sometimes) 64GB of ram.
TOP tips for any one working with rasters in illustrator
Check if your GPU Acceleration is on as this still keep glitching after using outline preview. If it is off > save file> switch off illustrator> switch on > continue work
I also find that if I link raster file sometimes is lagging but if I embedded it it works better.
I am not surprised why design agency keep sending us Photoshop files at full size but only 75ppi for large format print.

Shame that it usually this do not work like this and almost always artwork needs tweeks and amendmets before printing.
It a pure joy (NOT !) to work with files with 100 of clipping mask shadows and efects.
Adobe please ease fix experience for PC even if this means raising recommend PC specyfication or adding optional acceleration for higher grade PC
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedNO! PRINT IS DEAD that's what they must be thinking but we have x2 1.6m wide printers in the workshop that are constantly hungry for more media. Illustrator is 90% of our work flow as we need to be able to supply anything from small to huge print with the same look quality and colours. It is really frustrating when simple operation like adding shadows for a better separation can bring my 6core PC with 64GB ram and 2070 to standstill.
Adobe please improve efficiency on Illustrator.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI really like how this thread sort of keep forcing everyone to show of they computer spec. ;D Suprise Suprise I spotted only one RTX 30 series I wonder why.
RE Adobe please fix this or refund me for my subscription or/and my mouse as I am not sure how much more it can take it being smashed in to desk from frustration.
BTW. Using older version is not solution as I am missing some of the features that we pay subscription fee for and I have to deal with loads of client supplied files. They usually saved in the latest version.

Load the file
GPU Acceleration is ON
CTRL+Y - Outline preview ON
CTRL+Y - Outline preview OFF
GPU Acceleration is greyed out and performance is VERY sluggish.Illustrator struggles with simple technical drawings and performing any task is close to impossible.
I tried changing colour profiles and I had no luck. I'm in Europe so I have Europe General Purpose 3 and Europe Prepress 3 and no luck with any of them.
My work requires me to do a lot of technical drawings and our workflow is based around Creative Cloud so that we can merge creative and technical design together.
Current performance is not acceptable.
PLEASE FIX THE ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

I do not care anymore I am buying 7950x for home. If I can't use it for Illustrator I will have this at least for gaming ;D. If both task are not up spec of this processor then my last hope is going to be Blender.
