I created an object and then if I try to move it anywhere else in the document it just dings at me. I can move it with the arrow keys but not with the selection arrow. I have read all of the posts and tried everything suggested. Including reinstalling Illustrator and nothing works. I have checked to make sure the box is not checked to move by path only. As it is, Illustrator at the current moment is totally unusuable. I am going to have to use Inkscape. I want my Illustrator to work. This is why i pay big bucks for it. I have found posts as far back as 2005 with no solution to the problem. Why has it been an issue for that long? If I can't get illustrator to work I might as well quit paying for it and try the alternatives. 90% of my work is done in Illustrator.

I think I use this feature on a daily basis! I have put off learning illustrator on iPad. Doesn’t look like I can use it as much without this feature.
