    Thanks for reporting the issue. We have tried the scenario and failed to reproduce it,it would be helpful if you could provide some more information-

    Is this happening on win 7 only?

    Have you tried cleaning the preferences and re launching the application?Does that solve the issue.

    Have you encountered this issue with the latest Illustrator build?

    I am also getting this bug on Illustrator 23.0.3 on iMac 27". The only 'remedy' seems to be quit and relaunch Illustrator, which I usually do after a few of them stack up. Fairly annoying. No fix yet??
