Interesting, they do appear on CPU!

Hi Egor,
Here are two screenshots with lined grid and dotted grid, otherwise the same. As you can see, the dotted grid is now invisible. I could see it before the update.nicolas

When a grid is set as Style:Dots, it does not show up any more after update to 27.9, even when grids are not hidden. The dotted grids work in 27.8.1, and the lined grids work in both version.

I agree this is really missing in Illustrator, where so much things have to be placed manually one by one. Even in InDesign you can insert objects within a text box or hack something out with tables.

Update: bug is still there and still very annoying, but if that can help solving it, the grid dots appear for a moment while the mouse is pressed when text is being selected.
