    I have experienced the same issue: I have some graphic styles applied to some objects. Any time I duplicate these objects, I get my graphic styles also duplicated.

    It's annoying and a performance killer.

    Every time I create a HDV/HDTV or FILM & VIDEO new document, a giant artboad sizing 14400 x 14400 px shows up behind the 1920 x 1080 px artboard, even if I request the new document to open with just ONE artboard. I always need to delete the background artboad and then start working.

    This bug is present on both 2020 and 2019 versions.

    I have a MBookPro 2.4/32GB running the Catalina 10.15.3.

    This artboard has a purpose.

    As mentioned here in comments and in several discussions (here or here), this artboard is needed when importing the file as a composition into After Effects.

    Quoting Ton Frederiks (thanks):

    With a single artboard, After Effects clips the content outside the artboard even when Retain Layer Sizes is selected.

    With the second large artboard, AE will show the contents of layers when Retain Layer Sizes is selected.

    Another way to solve it is to create a single large artboard that has the size of all the artwork.
