Cloud file Versioning
I know this would be a huge lift, but cloud file versioning would be great. Beyond the obvious workflow advantages, it could facilitate working with cloud documents offline and syncing later without risking clobbering what's in there or attempting any sort of complex and error-prone diffing process.

integrate settings between Rosetta based release version and beta/prerelease
I need to switch between rosetta illustrator (for Astute Graphics plugins) and the beta native version.
Is it possible for them to share settings, or alternatively, would that be a workable feature?
I'm sure there would be complications, but I have to ask.1 vote -
command+option+z should *not* be the shortcut to revert the current project
command+option+z is "step backward" in photoshop, undo basically. Why is it revert file in illustrator?! so many people have lost work because of this simple oversight.

copy and paste at pre selected place in group shape hierarchy
When did this change… I am 100% sure in the past when trying to paste a shape within the layered structure of a grouped set of objects, ….prior to pasting you could (A) Direct select, or maybe even double-click isolate a place in that layered grouping of shapes to specify where you want your newly pasted shape to go. Before I could, copy - hit (A) direct select an object, and then when I hit CTRL-F or V… the pasted object/shape would sit on top of previously selected shape in that layered hierarchy. Now, there’s no recognition.. or option to…

Movie Clip symbol?
When a Symbol is created, it defaults to 'Movie Clip'.

Harmonization between Adobe apps
Switching from one app to another (Fresco, Illustrator or Photoshop), it is annoying not to find the equivalent tools at the same place (ex: pipette).
Would it be possible to have a better coherence between the apps?

Please add legacy menus and tools as a workspace
Please, please add legacy menus and tools as an option for a workspace. I have been using AI 3 for years on my old G5 and recently went to a new iMac and bought the full line monthly for all Adobe programs. Acrobat is so much better, PS is tolerable, but AI is near impossible! Everything has moved, the tools react differently and I'm having a heck of a time trying to find everything! Page setup is gone, I do a lot of Image Tracing (all the way back to when you needed that extra program to do it!) and…

Show Contentpreview in hidden layers
When you hide a layer, the contentpreview in the little square in the Layers Panel is hidden. Finding a specific layer is terrible when it’s hidden (you only see the layers name).
That makes absolutely no sense to me and has no benefit that I can think of, to the contrary.
Please make it at least an option, or just make the Layerpreview always visible. I can see that it’s hidden when I see the eye canceled on the right, no need for more indication that its hidden.

Keyboard shortcut to invoke the search box under the Help menu
I swear there used to be a keyboard shortcut to do this. Given the relative complexity of Illustrator, I rely on search to locate less frequently performed actions. I currently navigate by mouse up to the Help menu (which automatically gives the Search field focus), where I type in the first few characters of the action I wish to perform (results are refined as I type in more characters); this way, I can simply select the action I want right from the Help menu. It would be great if I could forego the mouse entirely and invoke that Help menu…

Do the 'Effects menu' as the After Effect's
Why don't you make the AI effects menu as practical as the AE's menu? It is much easier to type in what do you want.

Libraries panel background
Can we stop changing the look of the Libraries panel.?!?!?

Select all the value at once
Is it possible when clicking on a value such the shape, dimensions or text height etc. to select all the value so it can be replaced faster. Right now I have to delete the values number by number or select all with Ctrl-A then delete.
It would be appreciated if you have the option to select all when clicking on it.
It will save a lot of time.

Each item in the document to have its own persistent history
Linear document history seems very dated considering how much ram computers have these days, a hierarchical multi-dimensional object oriented history seems like a good idea. It would be amazing if I could choose to access the history of each item in the layers panel. it might work similar to file versioning solutions like GIT.
This history could be optionally saved into the file or cloud library so it can be accessed across sessions.

protect against accidental micro-adjustments during object selection
There are many times, most often while I am either double clicking to get into isolation mode, or selecting a layer as I am moving the mouse, where I accidentally move the object I clicked on a tiny bit, this becomes a problem on some pieces of artwork where math and/or high level accuracy are involved, and the adjustments are so minimal that they aren't noticed until its too late to undo.
It would be really cool if illustrator somehow detected or prevented against accidental unwanted adjustments. the idea occurred to me after seeing my phone attempt to block accidental…

Modifier key on apple pencil
It would be nice if on the apple pencil you could assign the Modifier circle to the Double tap button on the Apple pencil.

Description: Visible backgrounds/Previews
As an example: Effects > Distort & Transform> Free Distort which has a dialogue box where you manipulate the effect but, the preview doesn't show the graphic within the context of your design (attached sample). Because some controls like Free Distort don't have a slider, or mathematical value we can assign, it's very challenging to manipulate the graphic with any contextual accuracy.
