Allow more than 100 artboards
Artboard limits should be a "soft cap" of 100 or more dependent on the user's PC specs. The user should then be able to, at their own risk of performance, increase the cap of artboards to whatever number they feel is necessary, whether or not that is unlimited is up to the user. There was a suggestion to remove this cap over 5 years ago, I believe it is time to make the change.
I need currently 120 and it's really AWKWARD to create a new file and put resources there. I 100% need all my images in one file with multiple artboards!

Anyway you can extend the artboard past 1000? I have a large library that contains 3000+ icons, e.g., 1 icon type has 11 color variations for multiple uses which is why we have so many. It's a bit cumbersome to have multiple "master icon library files". Would gladly work with you to find a solution or if you need any additional info. Thank you! :)

Limit of 100 artboards has been raised to allow up to 1000 artboards (still in the beta builds). It should be available in the next update of Illustrator. To test the beta builds, you may join the Illustrator Prerelease program - http://adobe.ly/1Q3rCPI
Thanks,

I have a 32Gb of RAM and Intel Core i7700K. Limit of 100 is like a bad joke!
