AdminNitish Agarwal (Illustrator on Web/iPad Team) (Lead Software Engineer, Adobe Illustrator) responded
Hi,
If you will export artboards in any fractional scale or by specifying height and width you will get correct output.
The best way to not get an extra pixel is keep your artboard coordinates in integers. You can achieve that by changing the reference point of artboard to top left and typing in the nearest integer or do Make Pixel Perfect(Object > Make Pixel Perfect). If size of your artboard is increased please manage that accordingly and export.
Thanks & Regards
Nitish Agarwal

I have a 250 artboards.. positioned by structure I need for view, and yes, I have to move and set them. Super awkward.

@Nitish-Agarwal
I'm exporting just like that:http://i.piccy.info/i9/f1ea3bffe88c085a70725caeb23adb32/1509371307/36838/1155442/Screen_Shot.png
About what specifying height you tell'n me I don't know, but it's wrong.
The best wat to not get extra pixel - is to fix this bug.
I told already that when 172px set it's ok, but it's awkward and it's a bug you need to fix.An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
I don't know why old bug wan't fixed and closed. But make sure you follow instructions to reproduce it.
1. Open attached file
2. File->Export->Export For Screens.
3. Export Artboad - and result will be image with size 105x104px, but should be 104x104 as artboard size in document.So they are different, and this depends on coordinates of artboard, which is float - 172.34 and if you change it to 172 or 170, whatever and then re-export you will get 104x104 image size on output.

I've created new https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/32041915--bug-wrong-png-size-if-artboard-coordinates-in-fl
please vote for it.An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
AI 2018 v22 macOS.
In attached AI file there are 1 artboard if you just export it for Screens you will get an image size 105px × 104px, however in AI it's sized as 104x104px.
Check that X coordinate of artboard is 172.34 px, so it's float. Just change it to 172px and re-publish and image will be 104x104.So, coordinates of artboard should affect into output png image.
ALso, should be related too:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/20530969-export-for-screens-adds-extra-pixels-at-to-exportsAlso, this bug WASN'T FIXED and CLOSED.
After that, no reaction of admin. Poor feedback here...
Anyway, this bug should be fixed!An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented

Issue not been fixed, don't ignore it.

Is it same build from v22 - GM Candidate - 1 ? I've tested on it and it's not fixed!
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
AI v22 - GM Candidate - 1: issue still not been fixed. Image still 105 × 104 but should be 104 x 104 as artboard size!
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
RC3 aka like GM still with this bug! Please fix!!!
-----
File->Export->Export For Screens.
Result was image 105x104, but should be 104x104 as artboard size.
-----
I should manually edit coordinates of my artboards to be NOT float to not get faced with this problem. But thats really bad..An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
@Ashutosh Chaturvedi
Not fixed. I haven't changed float 172.34 coordinate or artboard. I've exported this file as File->Export->Export For Screens.
Result was image 105x104, but should be 104x104 as artboard size.Yes, I'm using a beta build 22.0.0.

Here is my bug about this problem https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/30992416-wrong-png-size-if-artboard-coordinates-in-float
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
This is because you artboards or slices coordinates is in float position like 123.45, but you need to set it to 124 for example.

Really so much time passed. When someone start to implement it? Looks like never. 1 year passed since I've created this. lol. or not? Well it's very soon, this 4 month will pass very quickly.
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
Thats really AWKWARD. Such a simple and useful thing and voted - and been ignored..
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
Really, 5 month passed already. This feature is really needed! Can you just implement so simple option? Art already moved if artboard moved, so why Art can't be resized when artboard resize?
Shivendra Agarwal ?An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
Again: but it's so much time already passed, this is really needed feature for my project.
I'm developing 2d game and I have a lot of graphics resources and I need to modify them with artboard. I have a lot of graphics, a tons of small images... Can you maybe give me some alpha build with this feature working in some way? I don't care where it will be, in a menu or by some key shortcut + mouse. I just need to be able to scale artboard and art inside it...An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
I see, thanks. But this is really needed feature.. can you please put it on the top of list so it's will be processed asap? Thank you in advance.

Shivendra Agarwal ? I really need this!
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
And what is that means? When this feature will be implemented?
I have now 286 artboards already and I need to resize them later, I'm no doing so, because waiting of this feature will be implemented so I can easily select them all and resize with arts inside. All in one click and in no time! Please help!
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
@Shivendra-Agarwal ideally also it would be if "Ctrl" worked and artboard control panel option. So if artboard option set to false, I can temporary like enable(trigger) it with a key.
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
@Shivendra-Agarwal Thats sounds like ok, but in some cases I just want to change artboard size and in some I want to scale it with art. So it would be easier and faster to use keys for that. With option - I should re-enable/disable it for diff. needs, so it's sounds like a bad solution.
Is using Ctrl has some conflicts or what? It's not used as I see.
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
Yes Mark, thats would be super help. I have 235 artboards in my file and now I need to resize some of them(about 120) and resize art inside it.
I'm using v22 RC3. So I can hold "Shift" key and select multiple Artboards, after that again holding "Shift" key I can resize them with saving proportions. But art inside artboard doesn't resized and thats really bad...
What you can do is simple - add function to let me hold "Alt" for resizing art and artboard simultaneously. Really waiting for this feature!
An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
By "I want just like Ctrl+Mouse to scale them both." - I mean that when I'm holding Ctrl and resizing artboard - it will resize art inside it.

@Ashutosh-Chaturvedi
Same here. Really needed just a simple copy&pastle of Artboard's&artwok.
For now, I can only copy artboard's in the current document by selecting them and then holding Alt+ mouse drag.
So, it's possible to copy them already, but only in the current document.
Should be easy to allow copy to clipboard and pastle into any other document.Volodymyr supported this idea ·

Actually this option "Update export asset" can be easily programmed, just by checking - if selection contains: polygons which refers to one of export asset(so find object which should be updated) and new polygons(which isn't added into any export asset). Thats it.
With it I can easily update existing export asset with new polygons path etc.An error occurred while saving the comment Volodymyr commented
Actually this half a bug and half a feature request, because I can't use Asset Export feature, or I would need every time I'm changing object - find & removed it from asset panel and re-add, this is awkward...

I'm imagine this option also with config. of font for slice name, so I can change it size, color etc.
Volodymyr shared this idea ·
And also, I have many other sizes, not all them are 104. So I should publish only same sizes with specified width and heigh.. no..
