Artboard-specific Layers
When working with multiple artboards, it would be very helpful to have artboard-specific layers displayed on the Layers panel as opposed to one long blob of all layers from all artboards.

This could work, and would be nice.
However, what would also be nice, would be artboards that were assigned to layers such that I could turn them (the artboard) off by turning off the layer they were on.

What build do you have?
I have the same needs as you and as I know there will be canvas layer that will hold global art. -

With the new Artboard-specific Layers all artwork is now locked to a layer.
This removes the ability to have artwork which spans Artboards.
We frequently need to provide individual artboards for production based on segments of a larger piece of artwork. (For example individual PDFs for each panel of a large tradeshow stand).
This doesn't appear possible with the new feature.

Separate layers option for each artboard, with option for a universal layers view panel. Maybe have it as a little icons, tabs, or a scroll window above the window for layers.

I did not get that the layers list is common to all artboards.... Now I understand I have changed them and effected other artboard :-0
In Sketch each artboard has its own layers. -

The layers should be specific to the active artboard. When I select something on the active artboard, nothing else, on any other artboard, should be selected. I agree with the comments below.

The layer panel becomes practically useless once you're working with a few artboards.

I'm tired of all art boards being in one layer panel. The panel should reflect which art board you are working on.
