Increase Bleed Limit!
1 inch bleed limit may seem extreme for offset (usually 1/8") or packaging (1/4"), but people use Illustrator for all kinds of projects! Textile vendors want much more. The limit makes proofing annoying because we need to get approvals without bleed.

Another +1 for this thread. Please increase the bleed limit or at least explain why you have limited it.

+1 for this. It's a painful and time consuming limit that appears to have no user benefit.

DITTO on all comments but especially: "@#$@!! Ridiculous. For large format... and a million other reasons... this is a such a stupid limitation. You guys are updating all the time! WHAT IS THE PROBLEM"
Why limit it at all?

One inch bleeds are not enough. All the different things that we all use this program for, this is a unreasonable limit. This has been asked by users for a while. Please explain to me the reason for the limits? Other illustration programs don’t limit you on bleeds.

Please consider this. Many vendors require a larger bleed on larger projects.

Yep, me too. Arbitrary limits like this are totally pointless and make simple signage jobs that much harder.

Kind of a bizarre decision to place a 1-inch limit on bleeds. Have the designers of Illustrator never envisioned that more than an inch might be specified by a vendor? Especially for large format work.

My design team are baffled that this still hasn't changed!!! C'mon! Lengthen the bleed limit!

Just change the **** limit, it doesn't make sense!

Let me add - extra bleed, or the option for a slug area. I don't like having to increase my artboard size (which I would like to keep at the size of the art) in order to add necessary non-printing information. (dieline key, stock and coating info, etc.)

Has this been responded to or considered at all? It's a huge pain every time I create large scale signage. We have some backdrop wraps that need 6 inch bleeds... please remove the limitation.

This is always a problem when working on large format projects. Most installers and fitters require more than 50mm bleed on canvasses or vinyl prints. Definitely needs to be more customisable.

Just discovered this problem. Totally unnecessary limitation - please fix Adobe!

I would like to see this as well. I'm currently working on trade show signs that require 4" bleeds. It's frustrating that 1" is the max. Please fix! Thanks!
