Remove limit of 27 spot colors on PDF export
We have one of the many printers that uses 6 inks to synthesize CMYK and spot colors. It uses internal look up for pantone spots, and these need to be set in Illustrator as spot colors. It's not unreasonable to have more than 27 of these (in this instance, we're creating a colour chart for our / our customer reference). Thanks.

Agreed. and also for the same restriction in Flatten Transparency.

Agreed. If you share PDFs for internal review, and have a lot of artboards with different spot colors on them, it's a pain to have to remove the ones you aren't using, then resave the file. And then the client comes back and says they don't like the specific colors you chose, and you have to go back and find all the variations all over again.
(Plus the added steps for having to re-do all the color searches using Pantone Connect, which comes with its own set of headaches.)

I have been able to count to more than 27 since I was 4 years old, Illustrator is at least double that, should be able to count higher. Come on Illustrator!

Yes, please! This seems archaic or geared toward web use only. We use spot colours for print production with outside suppliers. It is inefficient for us to have two sets of colours - one for in-house and one for out-of-house.
