An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedSorry! One more important detail. It happens when I am selecting the text with the direct select tool and does not happen when I use the selection tool.
An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedHere is the original file and some additional screen caps.

An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedThe latest version of InDesign has one of the best features (new?) that I have come across in a very long time. I'm actually excited about it!
It is the share for review feature. This is a huge game-changer for in terms of controlling proofing and review.
I use Illustrator to create large format text panels, and this exact process would be amazing to have as well.
I am not aware of anything in Illustrator that allows this same type of collaboration. Perhaps it is there but I do not know of it?
With the move to more online PDF proofing, being able to do this directly from Illustrator and to have those changes show up in the Illustrator document that can then be resolved dynamically would be brilliant!

An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedThanks, Lance. I've actually had this happen with Adobe fonts in Illustrator. Go figure. I may have run across this in the past, but it would have been decades ago, so I was wondering if they may have inadvertently changed something? We'll see what they say.

Thank you all for reporting this issue and providing us your valuable feedback.
What we have found out so far is that this issue can happen in multiple workflows. For clear tracking, validation and closure. We will closing this thread for given below two scenarios which we believe are fixed now:
1)Double click any Ai file to launch Illustrator
2)Placing files in Illustrator via Bridge. For two other scenarios that we know of that can cause this, we have created a separate thread :https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/39220189-ai-displays-the-start-screen-on-opening-the-file-a .If you are encountering the below mentioned issues with latest Version (24.0.1 on Mac and Win), then please vote on newly provided User voice thread and provide Test File via File→Package, Video and steps via dropping email at sharewithai@adobe.com along with this thread link so that we can identify and fix the root cause.

An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedSorry to say, but not even close to completed, Anish. Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator all have their own issues, but this issue has shown up in all three programs for me. It may plague other software, but these are the three major pain points for me. Others I'm sure, have their own.
I've been an Adobe customer since 1989. Very disappointed with the core products performance over the past 6-9 months. They have been continuously deteriorating.
An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedSo, I am also getting this (see attached). As you can see, the file is clearly not open. I have not minimized it.
As with my previous issues, I have to quit and reopen Illustrator. This happens randomly and several times already today.
Lovely.
Charles supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedI am currently running High Sierra 10.13.6
My graphics processor is AMD Radeon R9 M380, 2048 Mb.
My iMac is a 5K retina display from late 2015. No additional monitor.
I am opening the file the old-fashioned way – using the drop-down menu: File/Open, or File/Open Recent.
It occurs randomly – not on any one specific file that I am aware of yet.
It doesn’t occur on any particular file. It has occurred on previously existing files, and it did occur on one new file I created in CC 2019 as well. They are fairly basic. I can send one to you if you let me know where to share it.
It did not occur until I updated to the new version of CC – 2019.
An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedWith the new update, I have been experiencing issues opening existing documents. They will randomly open as a blank document. I have to shut down Illustrator and relaunch the program in order for them to open correctly.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for this feedback. This has been avialble since June 2020 release (version 24.2). Now, when you’ll select a single object/group, Align To setting will default to Align To Artboard.
Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.
Thanks,
Varun

An error occurred while saving the comment Charles commentedYes, please! This seems archaic or geared toward web use only. We use spot colours for print production with outside suppliers. It is inefficient for us to have two sets of colours - one for in-house and one for out-of-house.

This is one of the poorer things left unfixed. Very bad UI for a company that sells software to help develop UI/UX experiences. Live the dream! Don't be the nightmare.
