After having discussion with the users, it seems like few users are unintentionally reverting their document despite the warning dialogue and ending up losing their precious work.

Although there are a small set of users who are intentionally using F12 as revert, we think it would be of greater good if we remove F12 as a default shortcut to save the users who are pressing F12 by mistake and losing their work.

Going forward F12 will no longer be the default key for revert, however, if you still wish to use F12, you can assign F12 to revert from the keyboard setting.

Let us know what you all think about this solution.

We did some investigation on this issue and here are our thoughts :

• F12 is the revert key for all the Adobe apps, so there is consistency and we are doing anything different
• Before committing the revert operation, we ask for explicit confirmation first with the ‘cancel’ in the confirmation dialogue selected by default. All this to make sure you are not accidentally committing the revert operation
• There are users already using F12 key to revert so we can’t just change the behaviour all of a sudden
• If it still confuses you, you can always go the keyboard setting and assign some other keyboard shortcut or even chose to leave it blank

Because of these reasons, we think it will be not be a right decision to change the behaviour of the revert hotkey but before we close this request we will like to hear from you.

Hi Everyone,

We have started working on this request. This was only a Mac-related issue where the shortcut got changed. We are setting it back to F12. We are not removing this shortcut, because a lot if users do use this shortcut. If you want to remove it, or change it to even more obscure key, you can do it as per your liking by editing the shortcut.
