Add ability to hyperlink text
Make text linkable to a url or email when exported to a PDF, like you can already do in InDesign.
Only being able to do this in a PDF means that if you make an update in Illustrator and export as a PDF again, you have to re-do all your hyperlinks.
Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Hyperlinks added through Attributes panel are retained while exporting as PDF.

Thank you for all the feedback.

I have the impression that Adobe does not listen as they should. And this since CS. Before, you had to buy a CD and the update had to be interesting. Today, the promise of renting is false! We are often disappointed by the updates which do not bring anything !
Just look at the ingenuity of Affinity Designer and you'll see! Move an object in the layers to create a mask on the fly, Possibility of internal shadows and effects, extraordinary dynamic drawing forms (stars, pie charts, drops...)
Illustrator is old! -

Yes, this is important. It is hard to believe that this feature doesn't exist already. Hyperlinks have only been around for oh... nearly 30 years? Come on, Adobe!

There should be an option when selecting text to add a hyperlink to that portion of a text.
This would show up in the document so you can link work from your document. This would save time in documents such as resumes or others where you can link anything from your first document.

Can we add a hyperlink tool to Illustrator that's as easy to use as InDesign? InDesign's hyperlink feature is so user friendly and it makes it so easy to make updates to hyperlinks within the InDesign document. Can we get that same hyperlink took in Illustrator?

Why did I think this was an obvious feature? I'm so surprised to note that it is not possible. This is definitely critical.

Yess we need this feature

Agreed! Manually adding links in PDF is arduous!
If you need to update you file, you have to add then ALL OVER AGAIN.AAUGH!

This would be huge for me, as a content marketing designer I create multiple infographics a week and manually re-create the hyperlinks via copy/paste in Acrobat for each product and version.

Pretty Please! Now I'll have to duplicate it in InDesign.

How important is adding URLs / Hyperlinks to Adobe Illustrator files for me? It is Super IMPORTANT!
I have to add URLs to almost anything with text in it. Why do I have to open Acrobat to do it? This is such a waste of time, ESPECIALLY if I have to revise something.
How difficult is it for you to add this feature? Microsoft apps have had the ability to add hyperlinks for ages, are you guys not better developers than Microsoft?

To assume that a customer's demand is exceeded is to disregard the market. The choice of software is up to me. The request comes from the client. If I am not able to do a simple thing that Excel, page, Indesign… can do then I might as well stop offering graphics? This is stupid reasoning.

In this day and age it seems absurd adding hyperlinks, such as URLs or emails are not a feature. It's not the 20th century anymore! People are pointing out that if one has to add hyperlinks, one has to redo their work in a .PDF. That's a big time waster.

There are a lot of third party software programs whose sole purpose is to create hyperlinks, and they're ridiculously overpriced; I almost wonder if one or several of them is bribing someone at Adobe to keep that feature out wherever possible... If so, this feature is likely to continue to stay buried. 👎🏽

I hate to beat a dead horse here, but the absence of a function this simple is simply lazy and negligent of what your customers need and want. It's pretty silly that I have to create a .pdf in MICROSOFT WORD to get clickable links. If Word has it, Illustrator should have it.

This is a function that I have been asking for 20 years !!!

As mentioned. This is 2021, guys!

I agree with this! I use Illustrator for internal resources and hyperlinks are a vital part of this! Given the resources I have, Microsoft Word is a more functional poster-maker than Illustrator when I need to include hyperlinks.

Allow illustrator to export interactive PDFs... InDesign has this feature, why doesn't illustrator? This would make it easy to work with links without needing to add them in acrobat every time a revision occurs.

This should be a must for next upgrade. As for me making many unique looking leaflets that's distributed as pdf by my customers, it's embarrassing to tell them this is not possible unless I skip to the more graphic-killing InDesign-
So come on guys, make it happen - Adobe is in bad standing among my PC riding customers
