It is expected to have this bug fixed in the latest version, 27.4. Please test if it works fine for you and comment back.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedIllustrator 28.1 still has this issue. Some of my open documents are working, other open documents totally greyed out.
In addition, when working with in GPU, my images are out of focus to the point where I toggle between CPU to get it back into focus, then back to GPU so I can zoom in/out.

Please share some real cases for this feature you had in your practice, which could have benefit greatly from having inline graphics. It will help the team to plan it and make it more useful for Ai users, than analogues we have in InDesign and Figma.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedIt's been a year, Is this still under review? Like someone else mentioned this was available in Aldus Freehand.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedI actually think Illustrator and InDesign should be combined into one program.

The assumed fix for this problem is pushed into the Prerelease 28.2.521 version, which is available for members of the Prerelease program only.
After the Prerelease community verifies the fix, it’s going to be pushed into the next general access build or Beta build.
The status will change then. Stay tuned!
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedIt keeps randomly popping up. I had to quit the program to make it go away. So distracting.

An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedExample: InDesign document: When relinking the name appears so I can copy, paste the missing link in the search eld and quickly find the image and where it is located. InDesign also alerts and updates when it finds other missing links in the same folder.

This option exists in Beta 28.1 and higher and is still under development.
Please try it (you can install Beta from your CCD application) and see if it works like you expect. Your feedback on this will be crucial to shape a correct final experience for everybody. Comment back!

An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedAgree, Incorporating Character/Paragraph styles will go a long way to achieving Accessible work which is badly needed in the program.
I chose Illustrator when I'm concepting and don't want to be confined to a "box" like InDesign. Additional requests were added to my project that ended up having more text. I needed headlines that would span over columns like InDesign. I am too far into this project to switch applications. Now I have too many individual text boxes
As these programs have developed through the years, (okay, in my case it's decades :-) I often wish the best of both could be integrated into one program.

Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Hyperlinks added through Attributes panel are retained while exporting as PDF.
Read more about this - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2023-5.html#pdf-hyperlinks
Thank you for all the feedback.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedAgreed! Manually adding links in PDF is arduous!
If you need to update you file, you have to add then ALL OVER AGAIN.AAUGH!
LRSmith supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedPretty Please! Now I'll have to duplicate it in InDesign.

An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedWhile we're at it do you think we can copy text in dialog box so we can paste it into the search box instead of manually typing it in. I'm a horrible speller :-/
(BTW "Apply to All check box" does not work)
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedIllustrator REALLY NEEDS this same dialog box Update All as in InDesign. So time consuming to have to update broken links one at a time. Most annoying is Illustrator doesn't even recognize and update duplicate links

As per the comment, the random crop is caused by Enable Content Aware Defaults option in Preferences > General. Turn it off disable auto-suggesting weird crops.
As for the white lines, this a separate problem, now merged into separate report:

Please upvote it.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedEgor,
I just checked, Align to pixel grid on transformation is NOT turned on.The screenshot was taken with Full Capture Chrome app saved as a PDF. Example attached
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedCorrection. Crop tool "moves" after I press return to complete cropping a screenshot.
sometimes cropping adds a white line.
This link is what I found when first searching. I don't believe it is solved as marked on the forum: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/appearing-white-line-when-using-crop-image/td-p/9016209
Attached a screenshot of one of many crop attempts zoomed in to assure a clean crop, hit return (mac)... it moved.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedSame here when cropping screenshots. White lines no matter how close I zoom in. I'm cropping to get rid unwanted content, not add unwanted content. Makes it difficult to present/pitch my designs with white lines.
This has been on the Adobe forum since 2017. This bug should've been fixed by now.

We are working towards giving preference to Photoshop for editing linked images, if Ps is installed. This may mean the label showing as ‘Edit on Photoshop’ when an linked image is selected. The change does not affect OS level file type associations.
An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedAgree, please add for all Adobe applications. I recall there at one time there was edit with (drop-down menu with options). I don't want to launch Photoshop just to look at a jpeg.

An error occurred while saving the comment LRSmith commentedYes, I'd like to see the same robust accessible options available. I produce Scientific posters etc. using Illustrator for the Federal Government and have to manually produce accessible content after exporting to illustrator which by the way some times applies correctly but most of the time there are issues especially when you have a background image.

Obnoxious to say the least. Illustrator 2023-24, Macbook pro 2019 and Studio one using a Wacom tablet.
I finally put in the correct search words and found a work around and this UserVoice submission by changing the (Menu/Window/Workspace to "Layout" Though if I do that, I lose my preferred personal Workspace.
Between issues with View/GPU-CPU toggle, and other Adobe products such Acrobat desktop app's current interface debacle including missing scrollbars), Presenting my work had been a nightmare and embarrassment to say the least.
Let alone reduced productivity.
Please look into this issue.
