Make "Transform" in top toolbar show measurments without a click
I wish Illustrator would show the dimensions of a selected object in the toolbar, like InDesign. Currently, I need to click on "toolbar" to make changes. It would be great if this didn't require an extra click. InDesign's toolbar is far more accessible.

Yep, Transform gets shrunk into a caption if the width of the Control panel does not allow to fit all the elements.
You can customize the panel, just slightly, by unchecking things you can deal without, to make it fit — but yeah, it’s more a workaround than a solution.
InDesign’s Control is just taller and a bit better organized, in two rows.
I wish we had more options to edit the layout of it. So — voted. -

The transform tools do show like they do in InDesign on the control panel, but only if you have the UI set to small. I have mine set to medium because the buttons on a small UI were less than 1/8 of an inch on my screen. I had to remove half the tools on the control panel just to get my Transform tools to show up. Transform should have greater priority.

Sure, can explain, just saw this now. In InDesign, I can change dimensions quickly in the control panel by simply typing in the values (percentage or size). In Illustrator, I first have to click "transform" to access this, which is an additional step. I use this a lot, so it would be far more convenient to have it as it use to be – I believe it used to be like InDesign. Thanks.

I don’t get it. It does show up in control panel. Can you explain it more?
