An ability to lock the order of layers, but not their content
On fixing the hierarchy of layers.
In data with a large number of layers, such as a map, the vertical relationship and stacking order of objects is very important. We are very careful not to make mistakes, but there are times when our hands slip and we end up moving them.
At the moment we can lock objects, but we can always manipulate the vertical relationship of objects.
If there is a lot of demand for the ability to lock the vertical relationship other than mine, I would like to see improvements.

I see. I suspect your artwork is more complex than just Rivers over Roads, so it is not that easy to just maintain the order. I never had problems with maintain the relative order of the layers, but I admit that I never have more than a dozen of them. Also I do not hesitate to use numbers before the names to track the order.
So far I do not see a solution that will not obscure things... I believe this is not something needed broadly. And 'locking' is a different thing, so it will be hard to inject this feature without convoluting things.
Still, I am interested to learn more!

Thanks for the response.
For example, let's say you have the following layer structure
Layer A: Roads
Layer B: RiversYou can lock the roads and rivers in a layer to prevent them from shifting.
However, since the order of layers cannot be locked, the following may occur due to a mistake or misunderstanding.Layer B: Rivers
Layer A: RoadsIf you do this, you will end up with an unbelievable picture of a river passing over a road.
In my work, I have to avoid these mistakes in the layers.
I was hoping to be able to lock not only the layer content itself, but also the order of the layers. But maybe these problems are covered by other means, or
Maybe not many people have requests for additional features.
Maybe I should have discussed this in the forum. Thanks for the opportunity to think about it.

So what is you request exactly? What do you propose? Can you describe or show a situation where current tools fail at fixing the hierarchy?
