Easier access to Tools
Please rework the tools palette. Some ideas:
make it easy to use the full height of the monitor to show more tools
make it possible to select / activate tools directly through the All Tools overview, even when they are already loaded in the tools palette. It's inconvenient and annoying to watch an icon blink and then have to go into that to select a hidden tool.
make it possible to drag tools from All Tools that are already in the tools palette. Dragging should result in the desired tool on the desired spot, and remove it from the other position.
add Search to All Tools
add a favorites / recent used Tools section. Just like in the Swatches palette.
make it easy to switch to the previous tool with a key (see how Cinema4d utilizes that technique)

Some of these things were requested separately:

— Drag tools from one toolbar to another — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/45689491I don’t think creating one more combined request would help... combined lists tend to get less attention, from both users and the team, since it’s harder to prioritize them. Please request / report one thing a a time.
As for the 'make it possible to activate tools' in Edit Toolbar dropdown... well, if a tool is NOT in the current panel (or hidden within a group), it GETS activated by a click actually... it’s just it happens after we close the dropdown (Escape does it fast), and only then the tool icon gets pressed... but if the tool is there, we only get it highlighted with a blue frame, but not picked. I agree it should be picked as well, and before the dropdown gets closed!
