  1. Group multiple entities from multiple layers keeping layers

    When you Group a selection of entities from multiple layers all comes in a single layer.
    In many case it should be mandatory to group those elements in a new Group but keeping the layers or at least a new layer with the original layers as "sublayers" so you can still filter objects by layer, and select all at one by selecting master layer.

    Is it possible to create a direct component group that performs certain functions, rather than relying on clickable line options? This way, there's no need to enter a group to select the required component.

  3. Change how lock and hide work

    Сan you adjust how hiding layers vs locking layers works?

    Lock should prevent edits of any kind.

    Hide should allow edits if the master group or layer are adjusted.

    Example: Character Animator makes us hide Illustrator layers for various poses, mouths, etc. All the mouths are in a head group. If I move a head group with hidden layers, those layers don't move with the group. They should move. They should just not be seen while doing it because they are not locked.

    If hide works this way, can you explain the difference between lock and hide?

  4. Copy and Pase Layer with sorted and named sublayer looses all the structure after pasting.

    Keep the layer structure that is copied and paste it in the same structure after pasting into new location.

  8. Support Layered TIFF Files

    Why cant I open a layered TIFF File in illustrator without first converting and loosing content in the process to a PSD they are very similar with a TIFF file actually being a preferable option for a lot of work for a lot of years it is disappointing you need 3 different versions of an ADOBE product to produce one piece of work? Does anyone have a work around for this I have read conflicting reports with nothing I have tried currently working!! HELP

  9. Rename Anchor Points

    Say you want to apply the 3D (Classic) Rotate effect to a complex illustration but you have a rogue anchor point that causes this message: An unknown error occurred. Click MORE INFO and try some of the solutions to fix the issues.

    It has taken me many hours to figure out that a single anchor point (that is neither part of a shape or a path) is the most-likely cause of this error message. I work very clean, but rogue anchor points happen occasionally and it's incredibly frustrating to find.

  10. Make dimming of a template layer work also for vector images, not only rasters

    Illustrator 26.0.1
    macOS Big SUR 11.6.1
    If I make a new template in the layers panel and try to dim images to a lower opacity — it remains at the same opacity.

  11. Layers and rotate to original gesture in touch mode

    Layers would speed up to workflow when you don't have to switch workspaces so often.

    Tap or rotate gesture for rotate to original view would also speed up the workflow.

  12. Pin valuable layers to top of layer stack

    Being able to pin a certain layers which I use alot to the top of the stack would be useful to me. Would save scrolling to find those layers.

    When new layers are created, pinned layers would still appear at the top. 😁

  13. An ability to lock the order of layers, but not their content

    On fixing the hierarchy of layers.

    In data with a large number of layers, such as a map, the vertical relationship and stacking order of objects is very important. We are very careful not to make mistakes, but there are times when our hands slip and we end up moving them.
    At the moment we can lock objects, but we can always manipulate the vertical relationship of objects.
    If there is a lot of demand for the ability to lock the vertical relationship other than mine, I would like to see improvements.

  14. An option for Release to Layers to create top-level layers

    The Release to Layers always generate layers inside LAYER.
    How about create an option that generate this layers OUTSIDE main layer and delete the last empty layer after remove the layers with objects to outside.
    I always do this process to send layers for after effects.
    PLUS > Add TAB options like photoshop to rename layers faster OR create a rename tool to do this task easier.
    Layer1 to Ball01
    Layer2 to Ball02
    Layer3 to Ball03
    Layer4 to Ball04
    Layer5 to Ball05...

  15. More usable Layers panel

    Can we have the Layers panel open like Adobe XD (aids renaming and hiding/locking)?

    I would appreciate if the panel could make it easier to name and select layers. For example, if I have an item in the artboard selected, I don't need to select the little blue dot (see attached photo) for it to register that it's actually selected on the artboard, especially if I'm selecting more than one item. I end up having to hold Shift to select the Layers in the panel, and then clicking again on EVERY blue icon to select the items on the artboard…

  16. Change the opacity of a layer or directly in the tool

    Hello, it would be nice if you could change the opacity of a layer without a mask. I like to draw the shadows with the Blob Tool and have to reduce the opacity of each path after each step. It would be easier if each path automatically had a previously set opacity. Alternatively, you could make this setting in the options of the tool itself. Thank you
