Introduce Undo History panel
Please introduce Undo panel to Adobe Illustrator, listing all the steps that have been performed on a document during the current session, so one can quickly switch between any previous state and current state after testing a number of changes by clicking any item in the displayed Undo stack.

I have been following this Undo History forum since it's inception. As an Adobe shareholder and daily user of Illustrator and Photoshop, I am frustrated by Adobe's inaction in acknowledging everyone's more than valid reasons for this workflow breakthrough. Why has Adobe been silent on this particular request which would distinguish it further from the competition? The courtesy of an official reply is overdue.

I've posted this nearly two years ago. On the whole I'm becoming disenchanted with Adobe specifically and software companies in general, who would much rather hear from shareholders than their customers. In some instances these shareholders don't even use the product the company makes, while those that pay the price for their product are largely ignored.
In this thread, which I keep getting messages for I've seen individuals that rely on the History tool in Photoshop, and one that uses it to make the software more accessible to their unique needs. At what point are you people actually going to listen to your users. If it weren't for the fact that you, Adobe, have pretty much bought out every competing software manufacturer, we'd be able to jump ship to another product that fulfills our needs. Seems a little like a potential antitrust case to me, but then I'm not a lawyer.
Do we need to figuratively blow-up this thread to get you to understand how important this workflow feature is to graphic artists? Or are you going to continue to ignore this for other extraneous features that don't even match the workflow of your other products. They call it a software ecosystem for a reason. Rules in that ecosystem work throughout, with exception to Adobe Products.

I'm a handicapped person with the ability of using my right hand only. So, I don't have the access on keyboards that much. I use screen keyboards or other tools for typing also to gain full controls on various application and software. I also managed to make the Photoshop my own. I figured out and arranged the interface of Photoshop to make it better for my usability where the History Panel was the essential tool for me. And when it comes to Illustrator, I got disappointed as it doesn't includes the History Panel. It's difficult going to edit then undoing as pressing Ctrl+Z is not for me. History Panel would come in handy for me here. Wish I could see this tool in an update soon...

The main thing I want is to be able to skip through the Illustrator history timeline easily without repeated button presses, and to capture 'snapshots' with thumbnail previews that can be jumped between easily.
You can even replicate the functionality with the roundabout method of doing a few edits, copying the whole layer, then undoing back to a previous state, then pasting to a new layer. Then you can then switch between these 'snapshots' by turning on and off the visibility on the two layers. A more formal snapshot system would really help out though, being able to switch between them with one click and knowing that all my formerly saved snapshots won't get erased and can be jumped back to no matter how many edits I add to the history stack.
This is extremely useful when drawing artwork and trying to get a good feel for which of two different attempts at drawing the same feature/body part looks better.

Illustrator History panel is absolutely necessary.
For multi layered projects, heavily detailed work, we need to review steps that were taken to get there and how to get back to a specific look, or specific element.
We work in iterations. A design is never perfect the first time, and often we need to go back quickly with out guessing about a step. -

it should have! is unbelievable nowadays with a broad of alternatives design apps with plenty of features Adobe don't fulfil all designers need

I also vote for a history panel in Illustrator, for all the same reasons as previous voters.

Okay, so this request originally surfaced in August 2017. We're almost into 2020! How much longer; how many votes are needed to get this done?????

I find it absolutely ridiculous that there's no history panel in Illustrator. WTF

The ability to see a list of what I have done in a document would be extremely helpful.
I am currently working in a document created by someone else that contains thousands of objects and a grouping system I do not understand. A critical object has vanished. Did I delete it or just hide it? When did this object disappear? I have no answers to these questions. Seeing a list of my actions would help me resolve the problem more quickly. -

Please add,
I like to click between moments in history for comparison.
Cannot do this in Illustrator. -

You've got my vote. This is an essential feature and available in so many of the other programs. How hard can it be to add to Illustrator?

This feature has been being requested for years, seems like there are a bunch of blowhards in the Illustrator development team and user community that thinks everyone thinks like them and since they find no use for it, then we shouldn't
Many of like the ability to go back and forth real quickly so we can to compare the differences and see what we like better, and don't want to use the undo shortcut 20 times just to get back to a specific point. The funny thing is this feature would be easy for them to add and those that don't want it in their panels don't have to add it.
