Eyedropper picks wrong color from vector art placed behind transparent image (with Shift)
I have in image on isolated transparent background, in CMYK, with no profiles.
It covers some art. I want to apply color of underlying art to another object. I pick Eyedropper tool and pick color from bottom art, holding Shift, clicking through transparent parts of my image.
AI picks wrong color, with fractions and dirty channels.
This is related to color picking in a CMYK document from real CMYK values of an image, which AI fails to do. Again, I think AI should pick REAL color.17 votesDoesn’t happen anymore.
The Eyedropper still picks wrong color from an image, but not from the art underneath it, visible through the fully transparent parts of it.
If you have a different experience, please comment back.

Objects stuck in RGB colour space in a CMYK document
I'm working on a print document in CMYK and reusing some elements from a file created in RGB. When I go to change the colour of the text for example in the new CMYK doc it refuses to let me change the object to CMYK.
For instance, I want the text to be 85% K but whenever I input these swatch values it automatically switches back to RBG (R77 G77 B79).
This has been happening in Illustrator on my desktop for months, it's something I run into almost daily even after updating the software.

If it’s still a behavior you are seeing, please record a short video with the exact steps taken and comment back.

Selection Tools Not Identifying Color Swatches
Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6
Adobe Illustrator 2020With the new release of Illustrator 2020 we are experiencing issues with the swatches applied to art being properly identified in the Swatches panel.
Both the Open Arrow Tool and Closed Arrow Tool are not correctly identifying color swatches applied to art when clicking and dragging to select.
• Select Open Arrow Tool
• Click and drag to select artExpected Result: Color swatch that is applied to the art will be selected in the swatch panel
Actual result: Question mark appears in the swatch panel
• On the same art using Open…2 votesThe attached file opens just fine at several setups, with no problem described, sadly.
If you still a problem like this, please comment back and attach files that behave like this.

Changing colour by pasting code doesn't register as a change / can't save.
I've got a pallette file (yes I should make a swatch), but that's not the issue.
If I copy the code from one colour, then select an object in a different file and paste the code into the box… The program doesn't register a change has happened.
So when I "cmd+s" it doesn't register and my assets don't update in AE.2 votes -
Random swatch in files
Random swatches keep appearing in new and existing files. When I delete them, they immediately reappear.
1 voteThe problem no longer happens within the original file. If this happens again — please report and provide a test file.

Colors in vector art cannot be changed unless all old swatches are deleted first
If I want to change certain colors in a vector illustration, I cannot just go into edit colors > recolor artwork and change them. I must first delete the original swatches and then change the colors or else the colors will revert back to their original values. I think that old swatches should be unlinked from artwork if they are changed.
1 voteCan’t reproduce this today. Even global or spot color swatches don’t prevent the artwork from being edited and have the changes applied when using Recolor.
If you still have the problem today, please share a text file, a small video with the exact steps made, along with the details of your build and OS setup.
