Selection Tools Not Identifying Color Swatches
Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6
Adobe Illustrator 2020
With the new release of Illustrator 2020 we are experiencing issues with the swatches applied to art being properly identified in the Swatches panel.
Both the Open Arrow Tool and Closed Arrow Tool are not correctly identifying color swatches applied to art when clicking and dragging to select.
• Select Open Arrow Tool
• Click and drag to select art
Expected Result: Color swatch that is applied to the art will be selected in the swatch panel
Actual result: Question mark appears in the swatch panel
• On the same art using Open Arrow Tool click (not click and drag) to select piece of art.
Expected and actual result: Color swatch that is applied to the art will be selected in the swatch panel
• Select Closed Arrow Tool
• Click and drag to select art
Expected Result: Color swatch that is applied to the art will be selected in the swatch panel
Actual result: Question mark appears in the swatch panel
• On the same art using Closed Arrow Tool click (not click and drag) to select piece of art.

The attached file opens just fine at several setups, with no problem described, sadly.
If you still a problem like this, please comment back and attach files that behave like this.

I've had similar issue. The FLXX and the sub text under it just reads a question mark. It was copied and pasted from the catalog file and that text was a spot color named Pure Black. Also, when you outline that font it freaks out. Im on Windows 10 and using Illustrator 2021.

Can't confirm this on Windows 10 :(
Does it happen across other files you have?
Can you share the document that have objects and swatches that behave like this? Record a video or a GIF?
