Illustrator for iPad crashes after iPadOS 26.5 update / Cloud sync issue
Device: iPad (256GB, over 160GB free space)
iPadOS: 26.5
Illustrator: Latest version
After updating to iPadOS 26.5, Illustrator for iPad frequently crashes.
Symptoms:
- The app crashes when opening existing documents.
- The app sometimes crashes when creating a new document.
- Reinstalling Illustrator did not fix the issue.
- Storage space is not an issue (over 160GB free).
- Other apps such as Procreate work normally.
Additional observations:
- Illustrator can be launched successfully when the iPad is in Airplane Mode.
- After launching in Airplane Mode, turning Wi-Fi back on sometimes allows the app to continue running.
- Document lists are sometimes incomplete after launch and later reappear.
- If I edit a document while offline and then reconnect to Wi-Fi, the changes I made can disappear while the document itself remains.
I found multiple Adobe Illustrator crash logs (.ips files) generated during these crashes.
This appears to be related to cloud document synchronization or startup synchronization after updating to iPadOS 26.5.
