This issue was reintroduced in MacOS update Ventura. The team ran into another issue while implementing the workaround suggested by Apple. While the team revisits this issue, users can use workaround this issues by paste through context menu. Thank you all for the patience.

An error occurred while saving the comment Brian Yagel commentedThis issue has it's 4th birthday coming up. And it was never resolved, so saying it was "reintroduced" in Ventura is disingenuous at best. At no point from at least May 2020 until now has this NOT been an issue. Please, do better. It works fine in every other Adobe app. It's just Illustrator. This cannot be brain surgery. And if it is, I actually know two. I can hook you up, just email me.
An error occurred while saving the comment Brian Yagel commentedStill not able to paste (Cmd + V) text when creating a new folder in Save As / Save a Copy / Export As dialog box in Ai 2020. Just make it work, like it did before 2020. Your Ai Admin "rama" said you're busy working on a fix. As that was over three years ago, I'm expecting one **** of a fix.
An error occurred while saving the comment Brian Yagel commentedDo you even work at Adobe any more, Rama? It's been so long since you said "Illustrator team is working on a fix for this issue" that perhaps you've already retired...
An error occurred while saving the comment Brian Yagel commentedGuilherme - It works fine in the other CC apps, but I'm with you and everyone else with Illustrator: it hasn't worked for over 3 years. Such a small thing, but such a huge pain in the butt. How can this not be a simple fix? I suppose Adobe just doesn't care.
An error occurred while saving the comment Brian Yagel commentedWhy is this STILL an issue, 3 years on, when the other apps have it sorted out? Do your people not talk to each other?? It's fine now in Photoshop and InDesign. What's the problem with Illustrator? This is maddening.

In all but the two more recent releases of Illustrator, text on the clipboard could be pasted into the Save as or Export as or New Folder name fields. This was very very helpful and I have had scripts built around this for years. But now those fields don't accept clipboard contents. The copied text is in the clipboard and can be pasted anywhere else. Just no longer in the name fields in save as, export, or new folder fields, when saving/exporting. Can you please change that back?

IF Adobe ever fixes this, please resist the urge to thank or congratulate them, or in any way show your appreciation. At this point, that would essentially be Stockholm syndrome.
