Still not able to paste (Cmd + V) text when creating a new folder in Save As / Save a Copy / Export As dialog box in Ai 2020
In the latest update the copy and paste option is fixed when trying to do it in the save as dialog box. But if I try to create a new folder with the save as dialog box open I still cannot cmd+v to paste text into the field.
This issue was reintroduced in MacOS update Ventura. The team ran into another issue while implementing the workaround suggested by Apple. While the team revisits this issue, users can use workaround this issues by paste through context menu. Thank you all for the patience.

On January 25, 2024, Egor claimed that this was a MacOS Ventura update issue, but other Adobe software, such as InDesign, was and still is working perfectly.

As a professional graphic designer, it's frustrating to spend $4,000 on a Mac Studio and $650 each year for Adobe Creative Cloud, only to deal with a basic problem that slows down work. The fact that you can't copy and paste filenames in the "Save As" dialog in Adobe software is a big issue. Many of us need to copy filenames with details like dates and company names daily, and this problem has been around for years without being fixed.
Apple and Adobe are key tools for designers, but this issue seriously affects our workflow. If it continues, many professionals, including myself, may start avoiding Apple products. This needs to be fixed as a priority. I hope Adobe will take this problem seriously and resolve it soon.

On my work computer (Mac running Sonoma 14.4) in file saving dialogue when I use Command+Shift+G and wanna paste a folder path, it doesn't work using keyboard shortcuts, I can still paste using contextual menu using a mouse, it's just the keyboard shortcut that doesn't work. It all works in Photoshop so this must be a illustrator bug. It also works in few other apps I tested. It would be great if it was fixed as soon as possible. Illustrator version 28.6.

All of us pumping up the comments here so that gets to the forefront of complaints and solved. A lots of random "UNDER REVIEW" after "UNDER REVIEW" and "UNDER REVIEW" and: NOTHING.
For me: very very very annoiyng. Loosing my mind on the way of brainstorming and tasks.

IF Adobe ever fixes this, please resist the urge to thank or congratulate them, or in any way show your appreciation. At this point, that would essentially be Stockholm syndrome.

Kind of crazy this is something that wasn't fixed a week after the issue was discovered.
I've continued to copy text out of Illustrator to TextEdit and then paste it into the save as prompt. As for using a context menu, if you are referring to right-clicking this doesn't work for me. Windows works fine with CTRL-C and CTRL-V (feels amazing to perform such a simple task there too).

It is NOT fixed.

Re-introduced in Ventura? macOS Ventura was released in October 2022.
So it took you 16 months to come up with a workaround. Great work guys :-D
People are complaining about this bug since macOS Mojave which was introduced in 2018.

This issue has it's 4th birthday coming up. And it was never resolved, so saying it was "reintroduced" in Ventura is disingenuous at best. At no point from at least May 2020 until now has this NOT been an issue. Please, do better. It works fine in every other Adobe app. It's just Illustrator. This cannot be brain surgery. And if it is, I actually know two. I can hook you up, just email me.

Used to be able to Save > New folder > command-v paste to name the folder, all with the keyboard and no mouse. Now I have to grab the mouse, right-click into the folder name area and select Paste from the contextual menu. It wastes a lot of time in a busy printer environment, please restore this simple functionality.

Still not able to paste (Cmd + V) text when creating a new folder in Save As / Save a Copy / Export As dialog box in Ai 2020. Just make it work, like it did before 2020. Your Ai Admin "rama" said you're busy working on a fix. As that was over three years ago, I'm expecting one **** of a fix.

Brian Yagel commented
Do you even work at Adobe any more, Rama? It's been so long since you said "Illustrator team is working on a fix for this issue" that perhaps you've already retired...

Não consigo copiar texto o Illustrator e cola em "salvar Como" no Mac. No Windows isto funciona normalmente.
