    There are now several separate requests made, based on the feedback in this thread:

    1. Regarding adjustable color and opacity for 3D shadows:

    All those who commented on the topic until October 16, 2023, are already added as voters there. If this is something you want to have for 3D and Materials in Illustrator — please upvote it. If possible — create new requests and bug reports about 3D, rather than commenting here inside. This will help the team to better prioritize efforts on making the feature better.     I have no idea why this new 3d rendering replaced the old one. It is unusable, and the rendered output is a flattened jpeg that you cannot expand. If we wanted to make a jpeg, I'd use photoshop's bevel and emboss. Illustrator is for vector art. Even at 300ppi the resolution is terrible.

    Our team is having the same issue. For example, you create a text box, type the text "WELCOME", format it to Avenir, Bold, Red color. Then if you click in the same text box and type the word HOME after, that word defaults to Myriad Pro. So WELCOME is in Avenir, and HOME is in Myriad Pro. This developed after the newest update.
