    This issue can occur when you have an external monitor set to the main screen. I use a macbook pro, with an external monitor set as the main screen, when i drag illustrator back to my laptop the dropdowns work, the only problem is they appear stuck in the top right of the screen.

    I fixed this issue by setting my macbook as the main screen, and the monitor as second.

    Im having this same issue. I found if my external apple monitor is set to my main screen the dropdowns display on my laptop. This needs fixing.
