An error occurred while saving the comment Pierre Paquette commentedThe ellipse tool is great, and we can create “pie slices” from any given angle to any given angle, and that’s awesome. However, it would be even better if the resulting shape could be (user option) *without* the wedge; i.e., only keep the arc. This way, we could add arrowheads to the resulting arcs without having to break the shape, remove the central anchor point, and then add the arrowheads. The arc could be adjusted even after adding the arrowheads.
CorelDRAW has had that feature for 15+ years (last time I used it was about 15 years ago); I just don’t understand why Illustrator doesn’t have it…
Heck, I just downloaded and installed CorelDRAW on my machine, just so I could attach a preview here of what I mean exactly.

In the Save As -> SVG menu, there’s now an option to Embed images.
