Hi All,
I am not able to reproduce this issue at my end. Would it be possible for you to share the file with me if it is happening in some file consistently? you can share it on sharewithai@adobe.com and tag me in the mail
Thanks

Dear Users,
We have launched this feature in the latest release of Illustrator, 24.2. I request you to try out this feature and give us your feedback.
Thanks,

I also print stencils onto paper from a large format printer, and I am limited in how long I can print not by the paper or printer but by Illustrator, which is insanely frustrating.
I have no need of any bitmap/raster or pixel effects. I would be happy to disable those once the canvas exceeded a certain size.
1) Version 24 on Mac OS X 10.14.6
2) I clicked on the eye icon to hide a layer
3) The layer should hide
4) The layer did not hide
I figured out a workaround that might inform you as to the bug's cause, which is that if I scroll the Layers panel, I am able to hide the layer. But this is happening to me quite a bit, let's say 25% of the time.
