Tony, I think you misunderstood me and may want to re-read what I wrote.

My point was that there are "work arounds" (as I also had an alternative) but ruins the shape and should only be used if desperate. This issue just needs to be fixed and I personally can't use the work arounds since it also affects my workflow.

Vern, you can also do Object > Shape >Expand Shape or Object > Expand. But the problem with both "work arounds" if working with a shape, it affects the way you are able to transform it (like rounding the corners of a square). They just need to fix this :(

There is another forum that has the same topic that I follow as well if any of you are curious- The topic is "Rotation Handle Tolerance overrides scale and selection functionality while using Wacom". There are a lot of people experiencing this same issue.

For me, this bug is still not fixed and it drives me constantly crazy.

Tony, the only work around that I have found is if you go to Object > Shape >Expand Shape or Object > Expand. This only works for shapes that you don't plan on manipulating (like rounding the edges, etc.). I am on a Windows Surface Book. Not sure if that answers your questions since I don't know a lot about computer systems but the laptops I used before this one never had this issue.

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Amanda, I agree with you- Carl's is different. I have issues with the selection tool, not the pen tool.

And yes, you should start a new post and link this one as well. If you start one, will you post in here so we can start following/voting for that one?

I cannot believe it is 2021 and this was posted in 2017 and this problem is STILL GOING ON. So many people have commented (this is my second time commenting) and nothing has been addressed. I am still dealing with this annoying shape tolerance. For me, I didn't start having this issue until an update in 2020. So there is something going on that is effecting this and whether or not it a setting issue, bug, etc. there needs to be a solution to fix it! We can't be the only ones that are having this problem, right???

I have to say, I was extremely frustrated with this (obviously from my comment below haha). I finally figured it out. I wish Illustrator would have just just given a solution rather than just saying "we have fixed this issue" when people are still having issues with it. From further Googling and deep internet searching....What you do is Object > Shape >Expand Shape or Object > Expand. This worked for me and basically disabled the rotation unless I specifically grab the corners to turn. I am posting to hopefully help other people.

Update 6 months later: this solution is only good if you don't plan on rounding the corners and etc. as it messes up the object. But, it is a temporary solution to get rid of some of the annoyance. UGH.

I cannot stand this anymore. I am at my breaking point with how frustrating this is. I can't even bring in round edges on my square/rectangle shapes. All it wants to do it rotate my objects! I feel like adjusting a shape is more important than rotating an object!
