Eyedropper tool to have option to pick gradient settings
If you have a gradient set up with custom rotation and you want to pick it to another object with eyedroper tool, the rotation doesn't transfer.
It would save time not having to type it again.
Maybe add some other options as well to have more control.
It should be an option at the eyedropper tool properties. (See image)

Bring Back Hold Shift to Restrict Gradient Movement
In prior versions of Illustrator, when adjusting the composition of a gradient using the Gradient tool, you used to be able to hold Shift to constrict the gradients movement to the Y or X axis.
Please bring this back as it is a quick and seamless way to align the gradient composition exactly instead of eyeballing it.

Make conical gradient
Don't tell me about mesh trick, it has it's limits and surely is not that easy to use.
Just make Conical type gradient from the box.32 votes -
Allow freeform gradient points to leave boundaries
In the freeform gradient tool if points are dragged outside of the boundaries it deletes the point. Instead I think it would be better if the points worked outside boundaries to allow for smoother gradients.
See example on how a freeform gradient would appear if points could used outside of the borders (you can currently do it by using a clipping mask but it would be easier if it was built into the tool)

Allow transitions between freeform gradients control points to be linear

Have a "lock" option for the gradient annotator, to transform objects without affecting gradients
The gradient annotator adjusts itself when you also adjust the object bigger. I would like for there to be an option where I can have the gradient annotator lock in place while I stretch an object bigger. When I am working on a file that has a gradient to the edge of the artboard but has no bleed, this instance is where this option would be super helpful.

Clean gradient distribution between spot and CMYK colors
Allow clean gradients between spot and CMYK colours. For the moment, it looks greyish between the 2 selected colours.

Allow to add dithering to gradients to reduce banding / improve quality
We have banding when printing gradients from exported TIFF-files.
I have to open them in Photoshop, search a way to select areas with gradients and apply noise in channels needed.
I can apply Grain effect to gradients where I need, but this makes everything run very slow.
What if you add dithering as an option to gradient swatch? or to fill?
So it could be displayed in screen space, applied to current level of zoom, and would export as raster images as well? without slowing down?59 votesDithered gradients are now available in the latest 30.0 general build.
Toggle the option in the Gradient or Control panels.
Read more about it in this help article.
As stated there, important notes are:
- Dithered gradients follow the resolution set in Document Raster Effect Settings. In fact, this dithering is a raster-based effect, same as Gaussian Blur. It should stay live as long as you keep Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities option enabled (be mindful of this when you save your work in a PDF).
- Dither at the moment works only with gradient fills, not strokes
- Gradients added to CC Libraries don’t support Dither — PDF format know nothing about dithered gradients as a concept, it’s something only Ai does
Note also, that some clipboard managers or extension would interfere in copy/pasting these, similar to how it happens with perceptual gradients, as reported here.
Please test it and comment…

Keep color values when applying freeform gradients
When applying a freeform gradient, Illustrator picks up colors from everywhere around the selected artwork, also the selected object itself. It would be extremely helpful if it could reliably keep the exact color values the object has, so you don't need to adjust it.

Please make color control a **** of a lot more intuitive
Hi team,
I am familiar with InDesign and Photoshop. I am really trying to use illustrator on a project. I am fairly new to illustrator and am using the latest version as of 10/30/2018. I have to say the way you use and set colors in Indesign is either horribly broken (i.e., Bug) or it is not at all intuitive or similar to other Adobe tools. For example, I want to create a color gradient swatch that is applied to an image and then alter the color gradient and see how it looks. Seems simple - but I have been…

Allow to set opacity values separately from color values in gradients, like in Photoshop
Would be nice if the Gradient Tool would function more like the one in photoshop.
Mainly the ability to set different opacity values separately from the colour values. Not once I found myself changing my gradient shades in order to get the required transparency effect.
In addition, it would be nice to have the variant gradient selection photoshop offers, such as Radial, Reflective, and Diamond.

Allow to snap gradient sliders to integer values
I'm huge fan of snapping.
I snap tabs to units, I snap to grid, I snap almost everything — this allow me to narrow my design workflow and keep artwork organized.
Not everyone does need this, but I do.I suffer from absence of snapping for gradient sliders.
I wish I can move one and make it snap at 40, by eye, and not 40.73 and then correct this value by hand.
Please, make an option to snap sliders to integer values.30 votes -
Allow to select several gradient sliders
Sometimes I need to move several sliders in gradients at once.
I have to select them one by one and move each at distance I need.
I'd like to select several sliders and move them simultaneously.
Of course, they should be very clearly marked as selected, or this would confuse, if you forget to unselect them and then try to edit color for one.26 votes -
Enable Gradient Annotator on strokes
When we are in Full screen and Want to edit Gradient on the Stroke It would be Great to be able to Enable the Annotator on to Change/Edit or move the stroke Gradient colors
