Export for Screens, CMYK to RGB
When working in a CMYK Illustrator file, the Export for Screens function currently creates CMYK jpgs. Since it is for screens, it should convert to RGB. Or at least there should be an option to convert the color mode for the exported files.
In a package design project, the files are primarily for printing, but digital mockups are a secondary purpose. So it is necessary for the CMYK color mode to be converted to RGB. Export for Screens seems like it should inherently create RGB files.
Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.

Thank you for all the feedback.

Daniel I understand that anything for screens needs to be sRGB but it would be nice if they had an option to export the same way for Print in CMYK. When I work on projects I constantly use multiple artboards so that I can use assets on all of them. If they need to they could change it from "Export for Screens" to something more general like "Export Art". Being able to choose the color mode would be nice or if it at least used the document color mode that would be even simpler.

Export for Screen must be in sRGB

This also creates "error" messages in some instances. Glad to see this request and am voting for it.

This is much needed. The lack of color profile conversion makes Export for Screens almost unusable in various situations. Photoshop already has it :(

I remember Von Glitschka has been also negative about this.
And there is no way to choose profile too. -

Export for Screen is a great initiative from Ai developer... but there is no RGB/CMYK options for jpg export files. As a example, when I working on CMYK; but need sending jpg files to client RGB. Then I converted my ai files to RGB mode. Then rename the artboards...and exports. We are designers... after export RGB, most of the time, we save the Ai files in RGB. It is a huge problem face for printing press files... Hope Ai developers add this option soon...

Yes! It was ok into an older version of Export for Screens... a checker with "convert to RGB" and now is harder and slower to work for print with this issues.
And also ¿why an static absolute path for saving the files? it´s a joke?

I can say that as a print shop I'll often need to export multiple artboards that will then have to be added into one print file so adding CMYK to the "Export for Screens" would be awesome! Obviously we're hoping that you'll extend it beyond just exporting for screens.
