As mentioned before, this got shipped into the main (GA) build, but the development is not completed. The team has been gathering all the user feedback and intends to address it.
Here are several relevant entries you can upvote.
Bug reports:
- Spots and Globals are converted into process colors when included into Swatch Info
- Swatches Info doesn’t work for the only swatch selected
- Swatch Info renders a saved tint as yet another copy of the main global color
- The default text color in Swatches Info is rich RGB black when used in a CMYK document
- Tabs in Swatch Info text are made with spaces instead of actual tabs
- Bottom margins for labels are too small for Swatch Info objects in the column view (with no card backgrounds)

Live preview of color is now live in Illustrator 27.1.1, for Color Picker dialog, Color panel, Properties and Control panel, and Appearance panel.
It works in GPU mode only.

SanjitAn error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment I’m not sure how you figure this is only an issue for 1% of the user base when there’s no real data to show that and is based mostly on conjecture. That aside I believe that the reason big things like the canvas size and performance issues, such as only running on one cpu core, will require a complete rewrite of the software. I do agree that they need to do the rewrite because Affinity is actually gaining a lot of ground and with Corel on both Mac and PC now they’re going to see more and more leaving the platform. If they fail to make changes to the core structure, instead of adding features that only slow down the software, then they are only going to end up like Quarck did.
An error occurred while saving the comment Affinity publisher is will be for publications so similar to what you would do in Indesign. The out of range error your getting is the PDF limit of 200” when saving a PDF from illustrator. If you do want to take a look at an adobe alternative there is Affinity Designer, which is not as feature rich but has potential given time. Or you could look at Corel Draw which now has both a Mac and Windows PC version now and a much larger canvas option.

An error occurred while saving the comment @Paul I know it still says planned but this has been added to the latest version of illustrator so if you update should be good to go.

If they added a toggle to have the option of keeping art to one art board I’m all for that. My only disagreement was with completely removing the option of having art span multiple art boards. I see the benefits of both sides.
An error occurred while saving the comment @Mike I have to disagree with that. I frequently have to setup art that pans across multiple store front windows or will panel across multiple panels for a vehicle graphic which if it worked they way your talking would mean I would have to duplicate my art which wouldn’t be efficient time wise or file size.

As stated in the article linked below, Pantone’s licensing with Adobe got changed.
Due to this change, customers will need to purchase Pantone Connect licenses to access Pantone colors in Adobe Creative Cloud products.

This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Color Model selection for JPG is available in Export For Screens -> Advanced settings. Illustrator will allow you to choose - RGB, CMYK or Grayscale color model.

An error occurred while saving the comment Daniel I understand that anything for screens needs to be sRGB but it would be nice if they had an option to export the same way for Print in CMYK. When I work on projects I constantly use multiple artboards so that I can use assets on all of them. If they need to they could change it from "Export for Screens" to something more general like "Export Art". Being able to choose the color mode would be nice or if it at least used the document color mode that would be even simpler.

As stated in this request’s status update, the team had to temporarily revoke the 'Search for missing links in this folder' feature to make a way for the missing 'Apply to All' option when relinking, starting with version 29.2.
These two can’t coexist at the moment, and the team intends to come up with a better solution to allow both.

The most recent version finally has the Object > Distribute menu added.
Now both Align and Distribute commands can be accessed via menu and have assigned keyboards shortcuts to them.
The order of the commands though seemingly matches the one the panel has: horizontal first for Align and vertical first for Distribute. Also, Align To and Distribute Spacing commands are still missing in top menus, so please keep voting here to make them added too.

Hi Everyone, This feature was shipped in Illustrator 2020 version. Please go to Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display > and check ‘Select and unlock objects on canvas’. Enabling this preference will display a lock icon when you select the locked object.
